Chmieloon is the perfect getaway for fishing! The cottage set right on Spider Lake. Spider Lake, located in the eastern portion of the Mercer area, is 352 acres and 49 feet deep and has 7 miles of shoreline. Spider Lake is a "Class A" Muskie Lake and is called the Queen of the Iron County Lakes. Known for it's Crystal clear water and pristine shoreline with great structure and fish cribs. Species of fish include walleye, muskie, northern pike, smallmouth bass and panfish. The lake also provides an excellent venue for sunbathing and swimming. We believe Chmieloon has the nicest beach and swimming area in the entire county. It is all sand and gradually drops off . Very rarely do you encounter weeds while swimming.

This habitat is home to many wildlife such as bald eagles, duck families, and lots of loons.
